Purpose of These Booking Conditions

These Booking Conditions explain how travel arrangements with Rift & Tide Africa are quoted, confirmed, paid for, amended and delivered. They apply together with your itinerary, invoice, booking confirmation, Cancellation Policy, Terms and Conditions and supplier terms.

Please read them before confirming your booking.

Quotes

A quote is prepared based on the information available at the time. It may include accommodation, transport, guiding, permits, flights, park fees, meals, activities and other services depending on the itinerary.

A quote does not guarantee availability. Services are confirmed only after required payment is received and suppliers confirm availability.

Price Changes Before Confirmation

Before confirmation, prices may change because of:

• accommodation availability;
• exchange rates;
• park fees;
• permit costs;
• domestic flight fares;
• government taxes or levies;
• fuel changes;
• supplier price updates;
• seasonal supplements;
• changes to traveller numbers or rooming.

Deposit and Confirmation

A booking normally requires a deposit unless full payment is required because of supplier conditions or late booking. The exact deposit will be shown on the invoice or booking confirmation.

Some services may require immediate or non-refundable payment, including gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, domestic flights, special activities, park fees, private charters, festive season stays and selected lodges.

Final Balance

The final payment due date will be shown on your invoice. If the balance is not paid on time, suppliers may release or cancel services, and cancellation charges may apply.

Bookings made close to departure may require full payment at the time of confirmation.

What Is Included

Inclusions depend on the confirmed itinerary. They may include accommodation, meals, transfers, game drives, guide services, park fees, selected activities, domestic flights or permits where specifically stated.

Only items clearly listed as included are included.

What Is Excluded

Unless specifically stated, prices usually exclude:

• international flights;
• visas, eTAs and entry permits;
• travel insurance;
• vaccinations and medical costs;
• passport costs;
• drinks not included by the accommodation;
• laundry;
• tips and gratuities;
• optional activities;
• personal expenses;
• excess baggage charges;
• bank charges;
• costs caused by flight delays, missed connections or changes outside our control.

Traveller Information

Travellers must provide accurate names, passport details, ages, rooming details, dietary needs, medical or mobility information and any other information needed for the booking. Rift & Tide Africa is not responsible for costs or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided by the traveller.

Special Requests

Special requests such as room location, bed type, dietary needs, celebrations, accessibility needs or guide preferences will be passed to suppliers where relevant. They cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing by the supplier.

Itinerary Changes by the Traveller

Changes requested after confirmation may be possible but are not guaranteed. Additional costs may apply, including supplier amendment fees, fare differences, permit replacement costs or administrative costs.

Itinerary Changes by Rift & Tide Africa or Suppliers

Sometimes changes are necessary because of availability, weather, road conditions, flight changes, park rules, safety concerns or supplier issues. We will try to provide a suitable alternative of similar standard where reasonably possible.

Travel Documents

Final travel documents are usually issued after full payment and once supplier confirmations are complete. Travellers must check documents carefully and notify us immediately of any errors.

Travel Insurance Requirement

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. Travellers should ensure their policy covers the full trip value, medical care, evacuation, cancellation, curtailment, delays, baggage and activities included in the itinerary.

Supplier Conditions

Independent suppliers may apply their own terms, especially for lodges, airlines, permits, park authorities and special activities. These supplier terms may affect deposits, cancellations, refunds, changes and liability.

By making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Booking Conditions.
